In which Terra, Edgar, and Banon make their way back to Narshe, while Sabin gets lost attacking Uncle Ulty.

Why did I make this part of Chapter 6? Anyway, Terra notices something is grabbing on to her leg and it isn't Edgar trying to... hey, hey. |
It's probably Ultros. |
You shouldn't talk. |
At this point, Mog tells you to choose a scenario, kupo. Of course he kupos here. Moogles kupo when they sneeze. I chose Terra's scenario. Each order has its advantages and disadvantages. With the exception of Locke's scenario, you can de-equip characters at the end. Well, you could de-equip at the end of Locke's, but it will be hard. |

Although I again neglected to screenshot anything on the river including a Nautiloid, you do go down the river some more, and lacking Sabin is no big deal. Why am I riding a chocobo, you might ask? I'll tell you. Banon wasn't meant to ride a chocobo. It looks like someone used the emulator's Game Genie feature and jumped up and down on the keyboard in some frames, but this is the best I got. |
They try and fail to get in to Narshe. This all means you have to sneak in through that same passage Locke used to get here. |
So, here we have some new monsters. This early in the game and they're not even our first palette swaps. Wild Rats are palette swapped Were-Rats. I never bothered to test whether they're immune to poison or not. Didn't seem worth it. 1st Class is described in the bestiary as the highest-ranked maintenance troops in the Empire. Why, then, are they here? This isn't even Empire territory. |

As a security measure, anyone walking through this cave has to follow a path defined by a sparkly and not wander off. Or else. |
You fight Dark Sides if you touch the sparklies that surround you when you take the wrong path in the maze. Then you get sent back to the start. |
Rinns are blue palette swaps of earlier monsters. Spectres are ghosts with staffs. Said staffs are ice rods that you can steal IF YOU HAD LOCKE, which you don't. Both of these monsters appear 1/4 of the time. After you got past that part, either by following the path the light takes when it shows you the correct path or managing to touch the yellow sparkly every time you get the path wrong. Try the latter on an emulator only, unless you want to go insane. |

This is a terribly taken screenshot. The Old Man's name is Arvis, like that little girl in Last Exile in the translation I have. And so ends this sidequest, so we can join Sabin on his adventure. On your way here, there's a chest that contains a rune edge that becomes a ribbon later in the game. Rune Edges consume a copious amount of MP at this point in the game to inflict a critical hit. It's not worth it. |
