In which Locke escapes from Figaro.
Well, we only have one choice, kupo. Making this a bit redundant. |
South Figaro is under occupation, but the Returners are safe. Locke is wandering about with a happy tune on his lips. "I love stealing. I love taking things." |
Locke encounters a HeavyArmor. It's possible, but not easy. You weren't meant to do things this way. |
There's a secret passage that allows you to circumvent part of it, but this is what you're supposed to do. |
Merchants wear a lot of clothes. You can kill them and gain nothing, not even a remarkably useless rage for Gau, or you can steal the clothes from him and pose as a merchant. |
This is an Officer. After you steal his uniform, the rest of the guards tell you to get back to work, you slacker. Because they apparently outrank you and Gestahl doesn't let his officers lie on someone's furniture. |
So that's what he was doing. Um, Locke's an Imperial officer. Maybe he saw through his disguise. |

Hey, she was in a brief cutscene. And you don't hear anything about her. And you get to name her, which sort of explains . If you want, call her Leia, but I'll stick with Celes, even though I'd be stoned in Pannoval or Spatula City. If they were real, anyway. Her full name is Celes Chere, something you won't learn without the manual or anywhere else online for a long time. Advantages: Everything. Disadvantages: Well, actually, Runic kinda sucks in most situations. If you don't need Runic, you can get buy with spells and button mashing. If you do need Runic, you probably want to use spells for healing, and Runic will absorb those for a shite amount of MP. Unlike some characters, there are no relics that replace Runic with something useful. Arbitrary Coolness Rating: 10, despite Runic. |

The more you tighten your grip, Kefka, more kingdoms will slip through your fingers. If this was remade, I think that Carrie Fisher should do her voice. |

Prepare the Best of William Shatner records. |

"Not a bad bit of rescuing, huh? You know, sometimes I amaze even myself." |
It's never really explained what Celes does, but Locke's just here for the riches that Celes probably has. Remember to equip Celes. She only has a hair band on, so either Locke stole everything or the Imperial soldiers did. |
It's because he wants her riches. You can go back, and the guy in the HeavyArmr tells you you're a blockhead and doesn't recognize either Locke or Celes. Locke, the guy who was running around stealing things and beating up Empire soldiers and wearing their clothes, and Celes, one of their generals. Yeah. What rock has he been living under? One on Mars, no doubt. |
In the cave, the monsters have changed. The items have changed as well. One of them is a Thunder Rod which eventually becomes a Hero Ring. Take the Thunder Rod if you're desperate when fighting the boss or didn't get Celes. Trilobiters have inherent safe and can use Poison Barb. Primordite can use NumbBlade. Yawn. I supppose this is as good a time as any to explain how you can completely bypass Celes. Remember when that Imperial soldier tells you to scram and calls you a blockhead while chasing you? What we have to do is exploit some poor coding to put Locke and the trooper on the same tile, pass through him, and vaguely saunter out of Figaro. To do this, go into the menu, exit the menu, and try to walk into the same tile the soldier is going to. |
Gold Bear can use gouge to cause more damage than normal. They're the only dangerous enemies here. |

TunnelArmr is the boss and the one point in the game where Runic is actually useful. He uses attack, drill, fire, bolt, and poison, and exchanges poison for Tek Laser at 384 HP. He counters. He has an air lancet or a bio blaster that Locke can steal. By the way, you can not de-equip here unless you want to fight the boss naked. |
